In the joyful spirit of the Christmas season, Spring Haven Dental hosted a holiday food and toy drive at the end of last year. THANK YOU to all of our patients, family, and friends who donated. Additionally, we express appreciation to those who helped us spread the word about our holiday drive. With gratitude, we are proud to declare the drive was a resounding success! It is a wonderful thing to provide a bit of comfort and love to those who need it most. As Winston Churchill said: “We make a living by what we get. We make a life by what we give.”
About Our Co-Host
For our holiday drive, we partnered with Metropolitan Ministries. Based in Tampa Bay, this community nonprofit charity provides practical, long-term solutions for poor and homeless families and individuals throughout the city with an aim to alleviate suffering, promote dignity, and instill self-sufficiency.
Metropolitan Ministries provides a variety of services, including Life-Skills Programs that empower adults to improve their education and earning potential while still supporting their families. Additionally, their Family Resource Center helps those on the brink of homelessness navigate their crisis situation financially, socially, and physically. Other services include transitional housing and food outreach. In fact, Metropolitan Ministries provides 75,000 meals each month, including holiday meals for 19,000 families during Thanksgiving and Christmas.
How Can YOU Give Back?
We thank Metropolitan Ministries for serving our hungry neighbors and providing so many with the safe shelter, clothes, and education we often take for granted. We invite you to consider how you can show more compassion and kindness to our community. Though most of us cannot change the world, we can make a difference in our local community.
One way to give back is to host your own donation drive through Metropolitan Ministries! All you have to do is choose the type of drive you want to do and start collecting. They even provide you with printable flyers and collection barrels. Drives can last as little as a couple of weeks or as long as a couple of months. Check out their website for more information.
