TEETH WHITENING

If you’re looking for an instant way to brighten your smile, teeth whitening may be the perfect solution. It works well for those whose teeth have naturally darkened with age, have staining from food and beverages like wine, coffee, or tea, or have discoloration from smoking. At Spring Haven Dental, we offer both in-office and at-home teeth whitening solutions, so you can choose the method that best fits your needs and lifestyle.

INVISALIGN® CLEAR ALIGNER THERAPY

Invisalign is a fantastic alternative to metal braces for those who desire straighter teeth, but don’t want to deal with the hassle or appearance of traditional braces. Invisalign utilizes clear aligners, which are virtually invisible, and can be removed for eating, drinking, and brushing/flossing your teeth. These aligners can straighten out your teeth in as little as 20 weeks.

DENTAL BONDING

Dental bonding is used to repair cracked, chipped, stained teeth, or fill in gaps between teeth. It may also be used to change the appearance of older teeth to that of a younger tooth. A composite resin is mixed into a paste, which is tinted to match the white shade of your teeth, and then applied in layers to the damaged tooth. Each layer is hardened underneath ultraviolet light, and shaped and polished until it is smooth and natural looking.

DENTAL CROWNS

Dental crowns (artificial teeth) are used to restore teeth that have been badly damaged by tooth decay, injury, or general wear and tear. A dental crown will restore both function and appearance, and can be made from acrylic, metal, porcelain, or porcelain bonded to metal, with the latter being used for the back of the mouth because of their strength.

When you need a dental crown, your natural tooth is frozen, capped, and an impression is made of the teeth and gums. Once the crown is ready, it is cemented on top of the natural tooth and will closely match the color and shape of your other teeth.

BRIDGES

If you’re missing one or more teeth but have teeth on either side of the missing area, a dental bridge can be used to “bridge” the gap and fill in the space with an artificial tooth. It works by using two crowns, which are placed on either side of the gap on top of the adjacent teeth, while an artificial tooth sits in between.

DENTAL IMPLANTS

A dental implant is an artificial root that is used to create a permanent replacement tooth via an artificial crown. One or more small, titanium posts are surgically inserted beneath your gum line into the jawbone. Once the posts fuse with your jawbone, an artificial tooth called a crown is placed on top of the implant. This crown looks and acts as if it were a real tooth, but doesn’t decay or get easily damaged.

DENTAL IMPLANTS

DENTURES

These are removable appliances that are used to replace one or more missing teeth. They are made from acrylic or porcelain, are custom-made to match the color and shape of your natural teeth, and can be in full (entire upper or lower dental arch) or partial (replacing some teeth). While these are typically removable, they can be secured in place with adhesive or implants.

DENTURES

VENEERS

These are thin, custom-made porcelain shells that are bonded to the front of your teeth. They work great for individuals looking to repair chipped, decayed, and stained teeth. They can also be used to close up gaps between teeth, or address overlapping/crowded teeth. In some cases, they can be used in place of crowns, but for a tooth to accommodate a veneer, the tooth enamel needs to be ground down than what a permanent crown requires.
